Many people enjoy scrapbooking because it’s a great way to appreciate the moments enjoyed with friends and family.  The basic step is to choose a certain theme that you are going to base your scrabbook on such as a birthday party, wedding or Christmas day.  There are many great scrapbooking ideas out there for you to try.

If you have taken several dozen photographs please stop yourself from using them all, just hand-pick the best ones that you want to look at time and time again. Any left-over photographs can always be put in a box and used for another project.

Don’t hurry the project and take as much time you need. The story in your scrpbook doesn’t have to be in chronological order, limit your color theme, set out to design each page differently, or set any unnecessary goals.

What You Will Need

Start scrapbooking with the bare necessities or with all the bells and whistles according to your personal style. The basics of course involve having an album, so pick one that will go with the idea that you have or let the store supply inspire you. Whilst you are buying your album you might as well buy some re-fill pages that fit your album. It would be a terrible thing to happen that you are working away happily on your project only to find out that you are unable buy any refill pages for the album you bought. Get a good pair of scissors just for scrapbooking, and make sure they are comfortable in your hand and sharp, then keep them with your supplies.

You’ll need adhesive. Find one in the scrapbooking aisle of the craft store. Make sure it’s acid-free and is good for both photos and cardstock, because you will want to choose cardstock and paper to accent your photos. Choose holiday colors for holiday scrapbooking and baby pastels for baby scrapbooking. And lastly, you will need a craft store that specializes in scrapbooking so you can find specialized papers that are available by the sheet.  There are just some of the scrapbooking for beginners tips.

Hosting a Scrapbooking Crop: A Party for Scrapbookers

Are you planning on hosting a scrapbooking crop? You are definitely in for a world of fun!  Scrapbooking is a fun and creative hobby enjoyed by millions worldwide, and a crop is a great way to get experienced and novice scrappers together to share scrapbooking tips, get new pointers, and to create some great new pages and books. But as much as it is, when hosting a scrapbooking crop, there are a few important things to consider.

For one thing, no matter how devoted a scrapper is he or she will probably need something else to do other than just concentrate on scrapbooks all day or all weekend. When you host a scrapbooking crop, be sure to also provide other activities for the scrapbookers,or invite instructors or independent scrapbooking consultants to show new products or techniques.  This means that the attendees won’t be drained from trying to create new pages and books for hours and hours at end and can get a rest from all the activity.

If you’re hosting a scrapbooking crop and want to provide an instructor make sure he or she is very experienced with both scrapbooking and in presenting as well.  Some people are very good at the hobby but not very good at instructing others!  It’s awful for someone to be hit with stage fright when they’re just trying to share tips on such a great hobby, and of course everyone will then turn to the person that is hosting the scrapbooking crop to get things rolling again.

Showing the latest new products is also a fun activity during a scrapbooking crop, but make sure it isn’t just a sales presentation.Your scrapbooking attendees will want to be able to create many page layouts while they are there, maybe even a complete album, and they need lots of time and space to do that.  And make sure everyone can get something to eat and drink as well!  If you’re hosting a scrapbooking crop that is just one day you can usually provide a boxed or catered lunch; if this is a weekend affair you’ll need to talk to the hotel or someone else about catering different meals or let your attendees know what restaurants are in the area.  If you keep these points in mind when hosting a scrapbooking crop you’re sure to have a great time that is fun and enjoyable for everyone in attendance.
