Scrapbooking – Turn Your Love For Scrapbooking Into an Income From Home!

You may have noticed that many department stores are now carrying vast amounts of scrapbooking supplies. They wouldn’t have so much in stock if there wasn’t a huge demand for it. If you’ve been down one of these aisles recently you will have seen the hundreds of stickers, funny looking scissors, packets of colored paper scraps, rulers and cutting boards. As well as the pages, plastic sleeves, hole punches, tags, marker pens, etc… The list just goes on and on.

So what exactly do you need to buy to get started and will it cost the earth? It can be daunting but with just a few basic supplies you can start scrapbooking to your heart’s content and not break the bank.

Scrapbook albums come in many sizes. Mini albums are convenient to store, while larger albums hold much more information and allow for more creativity in decoration and embellishment. Some albums have pages that are permanently bound into the album, while others allow pages to be removed or added to the album. Choose the type of album that will be easiest for your scrapbooking experience.

After selecting the right sized scrapbook (you may want to stick with a standard size so you can design some of your pages on your computer and print them out), you will need to decide on the types of themes you want to use to highlight your photos so you can coordinate colors and shapes. A lot of packs available for purchase already contain matching elements; colors, borders, stickers, all in the same design or theme. If you choose one of these packs you won’t need too many other tools apart from the glue or double-sided tape to stick everything in place.

If you decide to buy your items separately you will need additional things like scissors, rulers, cutting mats and blades, hole punches, maker pens, etc… as well as selecting different papers and embellishments to make your themes. Remember to also include any mementos or souvenirs that you may have collected over the years when visiting special places or going to special events. These can be added to your layouts and greatly enhance your pages.

Both these strategies have worked for me over in developing an income from scrapbooking. I have been able to enjoy my hobby and get a little money to buy more stock and equipment along the way. Again this has suited me and I use this as a supplementary income, you may wish to got to a different level and that will require much more work on your behalf. I have also met some nice people along the way when making an item for them through a consignment job or when they buy basic item.

These programs (books) are around .00 to purchase and have various bonus items when you purchase. Overall I have found this a very small price for the knowledge they do bring. Again there are many other Websites detailing similar ways to earn money from scrapbooking. Have a look at the sites that are recommended and have a look yourself on the web at others, there really is something out there that would suit your needs. Keep and open mind ang give it a go, why not turn your hobby into a real income that the entire family can help and earn with

UNIQUE TOOLS FOR A FAVORITE HOBBY

The Scrapbook paper cutter is an essential tool in any paper craft hobby .  Whether you are a beginner or a veteran in this craft, it is always advisable to have with you a reliable cutting tool.  In this hobby we have seen our   share of innovations in materials as well as in tools over the years .  The growing popularity of this craft makes way for more devices that are ergonomically designed to suit even the choosiest person.  In addition , such developments in the equipment make it easier and more enjoyable to get involved in this activity.

Creating keepsakes is a very personal and meaningful task.  You would want to capture not just memories but the emotions and feelings associated with it.  It is no surprise that many who take the time to engage themselves in this hobby try very hard to create perfect collections .Creativity and precision come together to produce works that speak of hard work and dedication.  The spirit of the hobby remains the same if not deeper and more vivid but the tools of the trade have become more specialized to give you the desired output. The trusted scissors though still useful, rides at the back seat while newer and more precise cutting tools are used.

It is remarkable how simple yet important a scrapbooking paper cutter is to the hobbyist.  Finding the right one is essential and here are some important things you may want to consider.

There are generally three categories that you can choose from:  small, portables and stationary trimmers.  The small ones measure 5 to 8.5 inch, a portable one usually measures 12 inches and the stationary ones are larger than 12 inches.  Smaller trimmers are actually convenient to carry around but paper size that it cuts can be limited.  The portable is a favorite among enthusiasts as it balances size, and cost at the same time.  People who prefer the stationary usually have a smaller one to take with them where ever they go.

It is important that you compare brands when choosing your tools.Prices are important but you want to make sure that replacement parts will not be hard to get. Also, check the blade’s quality before buying.  It is a good idea to test it out whenever possible.  Check out how many sheets it can cut at a time.  Also, ask how many cuts it can make before the blade becomes dull.  Though 1,000 is good enough, try to find blades that can perform better.

In the end, having the right tools will help you preserve the memories so that you can enjoy it over and over again.  All these innovations work best when you truly put your heart in to your scrapbooking.  So, when you are searching for Scrapbook Cutting Tools, make sure to keep everything I have said in mind to help you with your selections.
